Day Rate Contractor Product Owner | |
Davies is seeking a skilled and dedicated Product Owner to join our dynamic UK & I IT department. As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for delivering value to our clients by managing your own product backlog. You will work within an Agile Scrum team, understanding our clients' roles, needs, pressures, and measures of success to identify how creative products can help them achieve their goals. Responsibilities: • Product Backlog Management: o Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it is aligned with client needs and business objectives. o Prioritize backlog items based on client value, strategic goals, and resource availability. o Clearly communicate the backlog items and their priorities to the development team. • Client Engagement: o Understand clients' roles, needs, and pressures to identify opportunities for innovative product solutions. o Work closely with clients to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories. o Act as the voice of the client within the Agile Scrum team, ensuring products meet client expectations. • Agile Scrum Team Collaboration: o Collaborate with the Scrum team to develop and deliver high-quality products. o Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. o Ensure the development team has a clear understanding of the product vision and goals. • Continuous Improvement: o Monitor and evaluate product performance, using client feedback to drive continuous improvement. o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product delivery and client satisfaction. Desired Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an Agile environment. • Strong understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and product management principles. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to understand and translate client needs into actionable user stories and product requirements. • Knowledge of technical software or background as a developer or engineer working with software engineering technologies and principles (.Net, python or similar backgrounds) • Familiar with cloud services such as Azure or AWS and have foundation knowledge of cloud computing • Having passion for technology and encouraging use of best technology and best practices in software development principles • Having passion for technology and encouraging use of best technology and best practices in software development principles • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. • Experience in engaging with clients and managing stakeholder relationships. Key Accountabilities • You will be a key decision maker, working closely with the senior leaders and key team members to craft and deliver stories that help us to achieve our aims and objectives. • You will own your own backlog, agree priorities, and ensure that the backlog is ordered correctly. • You will take an active role in assisting the senior leaders with the product/service life cycle – involved in planning, process design, deployment, and benefits realization. • You will work closely with key team members to understand required changes, facilitate communication between the team and the other interested parties and ensure the team is directed to work on the most cost-effective tasks. • Create user stories to breakdown features and epics into end-to-end functionality • Create user story acceptance criteria using the Given-When-Then Gherkin format • Work with the team to develop UI/UX wireframes and prototypes, ensuring a user centred design approach • You will have a passion for technology and encouraging best use of technology and best practices in software development principles Working Hours Monday – Friday |

Essential Skills and Attributes: • Background exposure to technology such as Microsoft tech stack e.g. .Net, Python or Java. • You will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic that can work with limited supervision. • You should have a strong client focus and consistent track record of delivering to user needs • You will need to be a skilled problem solver; a key requirement for this role is being able to deconstruct problems into constituent parts to come to the best solution. • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are also a requirement. • Being focused and accurate, you will need to have a data driven approach to feature development • You should have experience of user centred design and have a keen interest in UI design and user experience • You will have an open and expansive approach, willing and able to interact internally and externally and at all levels within the company. • You will show a highly committed attitude.
