About the Role:

Ovyo is currently seeking a Technical Lead with a solid background in Backend Technologies such as Node.js and microservices to continue increasing our impact across a range of internal and external projects.

You will have a background in software development having industry experience in the OTT / Media domain and have demonstrated experience having worked closely with 3rd party stakeholders or vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the project and where needed contribute directly by writing code, managing builds and performing other hands-on tasks.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of developers, ensuring the successful delivery of cross-platform solutions
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and 3rd party stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives
• Design and develop features for cross-platform solutions
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards
• Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing

Required Experience:

• Experience as a technical developer or related work experience; 2+ years in technical leadership roles
• Expertise implementing solutions from a defined architecture for various problem types
• Extensive knowledge in the areas of custom software development: OO Design Patterns; microservices, middleware, etc.
• Strong proficiency with at least one server-side language (Node.js and/or Python preferred) required
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript or similar
• Strong Object Oriented Programming skills
• Deep understanding of the React JavaScript framework
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases; data modeling/design techniques; data interface protocols; database deployment and scalability; database tuning
• Strong understanding of designing and implementing proper REST APIs
• Willingness to travel to client locations and collaborate with distributed delivery teams as needed
• AWS experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of web accessibility and SEO a plus
• JIRA and Confluence experience a plus
