Role Summary:A Data Governance Manager undertakes complex work related to the principles and practices of data governance, and co-ordinates with data owners to lead wider data management competencies.Your main day to day responsibilities will be to: Lead the formation, implementation and management of data governance frameworks, policies and standardsImplement and establish wider data management competencies within the organisation (such as data quality assurance, metadata management, master data management, data modelling, and development of data standards and data strategy)Be responsible for understanding and managing the organisational data risks and issues, and co-ordinating with data owners to accept or resolve themSkills, Knowledge and Experience:Communicating analysis and insight. You can evaluate current strategies to ensure business requirements are being met and exceeded where possible.Essential Criteria:Experience implementing and managing data governance frameworks - including data ownership, roles and responsibilities, policies, standards, controls and capabilities.Confident and experienced operating at management level, with strong leadership skills to deliver at pace.Experience of managing within data departments and/or programmes gained within a large data environment through Data transformation and data delivery implementation.Working knowledge and experience in embedding data quality, metadata and reference data management & business glossary platforms combined with developing people and processes to enable benefit realisation.Experienced facilitating workshops, data forums, requirements gathering and influencing others to innovate, with the ability to work in an Agile, fast-paced and multi-disciplinary team environment delivering successful results.Excellent verbal and presentational skills with the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders across varied senior levels.
