About the role

Benefact Group, are looking for an interim Data Architect to join our Gloucester office on an outside IR35 contract basis.


Design and develop a scalable and robust data architectures that meets the needs of the Fusion programmes current state and future transition states, ensuring that data architecture aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, including data security and privacy standards.

Define and maintain data models, data flow diagrams and data integration processes to support the Fusion application architecture design, this include stakeholder engagement with the appropriate parties and facilitating designs through Architectural governance.

Develop data architecture artifact templates and standards


Key Objectives

  • Develop and document the programme-wide data architecture that aligns with business strategy and goals – Dec - 2024
  • Define data models, data flow diagrams, data lifecycle and data integration processes for the current Fusion implementation – Dec 2024
  • Embed data architecture practices within the Architecture Governance processes – Dec 2024
  • Define data models, data flow diagrams, data lifecycle and data integration processes for the future state Fusion implementation – Mar 2024
  • Support the Data and Analytics team in identify the appropriate sources of data within the Fusion applications – Mar 2024

 


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Extensive experience in data architecture, including within the insurance industry.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing data architecture in insurance, including policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, and customer management systems.
  • Proficiency in data modelling, database design, and data integration.
  • Expertise in data integration tools and database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and cloud data integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with metadata management tools and practices.
  • Understanding of MDM principles and tools and experience in managing and consolidating master data across the enterprise.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and tools.
  • An understanding of data engineering, data lakes and processing of structured and unstructured data.
