The IT Service Continuity Manager creates the testing plan for the DVSA and ensures this is undertaken or reports on the risks associated with deviation from the plan. Use of technical knowledge is key to ensure that technology is understood and can be translated into a business capability for Service Owners to sign off. The role manages the assessment of business criticality of systems and works collaboratively with the Agency Business Continuity Team to ensure that DR and BC plans and tests are aligned and inform each other.As an IT Service Continuity Manager your main responsibilities will be to:Lead creation and delivery of the DR Test Schedule for the year using risk profiling and strategic objectives to inform prioritisation where needed.Support the development of the 3-year strategic plan and report to the Head of Cyber Security.Construct and present the DR Test Schedule to the Business Continuity Team and any related Governance Board for agreement.Report on any exceptions to the Schedule and raise the relevant risks as necessary to inform the compliance reporting processes.Review change proposals for DVSA to ensure that DR arrangements are included and tests are planned as part of the process.Review project proposals to ensure costs are built into business cases for future DR and BC tests associated with the project.Lead the business criticality assessment of systems and report to the Service Owner the outcome for discussion and acceptance.Support each DR Testing team to produce a set of improvement measures (as required) following each DR Test. The DR Test Manager must ensure this is approved by the Service Lead.Work collaboratively with peers in IMS&D to ensure effective controls are in place to support DR arrangements, including the identification that DR arrangements need to be invoked.Demonstrate leadership by providing guidance to staff to support the delivery of objectives. Manage and engage with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.Essential:Experience in roles relating to Disaster Recovery and/or IT Service Continuity, preferably with some experience of cloud technology.Experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) planning and assessment as well as designing and implementing proportionate BC/DR recovery strategies to treat risks stemming from the Business Impact Assessments.Experience in communicating the technical elements of a solution and be able to read architecture diagrams, whether these are logical or physical, or data driven in focus.A proven and adaptable communicator and listener, you will be highly skilled in the delivery and absorption of information, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues at all levels.Planning and organising skills are key to this role including seeking agreements and resource from across the Business to inform an annual test plan.Desirable:Public Sector experience.
