Senior Test Engineer – AWS Node Testing – Content Metadata Team – Contract Inside IR3 [UK]

As a Senior Test Engineer, we’re looking for an experienced test specialist to work with our media client on their Content Metadata team which is responsible for a centralised metadata system providing manual and automatic ways for team to access data on their products.
This exciting position involves performing exploratory testing of UI and API changes as well as maintaining and extending their existing set of automated JavaScript/TypeScript and Playwright tests.
The successful applicant will have at least three years testing experience in manual/exploratory UI testing and be proficient in writing JavaScript/TypeScript automated testing.

Essential Skills:
You will:
- have over three years testing experience
- have experience in manual/exploratory UI testing
- have experience in writing JavaScript/TypeScruipt automated tests
- have an understanding of continuous integration and deployment practices
- be used to working with other team members to define test requirements on tickets and provide test input during all stages of development
- be able to write high quality documentation
- have experienced working in an Agile team
- be a keen team player with a strong willingness to learn
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of accessibility testing (e.g. assistive technology)
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Excellent problem solving skills with a growth mindset
- Possess strong attention to detail
Experience:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
- Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
- Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
- Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
- You are flexible and curious in your approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
