Enterprise Systems Architect (6 Months Contract)

What You Will Do

The Enterprise Systems Architect will report to the VP, Corporate Information Systems, responsible for supporting all of the corporate systems that runs RLDatix, the role holder will also have a subsidiary reporting line to the Global Head of Architecture.

RLDatix is a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. The post holder will initially provide expert guidance on the implementation of a new HR solution and help ensure its integration within the corporate landscape. A secondary objective of the role is to work with the management team to address i) Refining and updating processes to ensure the organisation is placed to scale and expand ii) Working across department boundaries to ensure the needs of corporate processes (billing/cost reporting) are embedded within the product landscape and infrastructure. They will work closely with the Head of Architecture to ensure architectural alignment across various products as well as ensuring any architectural blueprints are adopted as part of the design cycle.

This will include liaising with internal and external stakeholders and how they work together.

A crucial part of the role is to align within the Architecture team by:

  • Suggesting potential architectural improvements to current corporate systems, working with the architecture function.
  • Ensuring alignment of design work with the Enterprise Architecture team, to ensure your design components fit within the overall architecture strategy.
  • Develop and document an architecture strategy for corporate systems.
  • Creation and execution of a plan to execute the architecture strategy for corporate systems.
  • Working with other architects from other teams to share knowledge and re-use design components wherever possible.
  • Suggesting proof of concepts for new ideas which may contribute to ongoing roadmap activities within the architecture team.


Additionally, This Person Will Be Responsible For

  • Creating Functional and Non-Functional requirements for each corporate system, from an architectural lens.
  • Help establish systems and processes to reduce the cost of operating the corporate estate (e.g. tracking and governing costs).
  • Provide an expert point of contact for existing/future 3rd party suppliers.
  • Making informed decisions and taking ownership of project outcomes, owning architecture components and their implementations
  • Engaging in design and review processes as both an author and reviewer.
  • Establishing standards for non-functional outcomes incorporating cost, scale, security, deployment and operability considerations.
  • Ensuring relevant documentation is produced and maintained.
  • Close liaison with the CISO to help RLDatix systems comply with best practice and secure required certifications.


Teamwork And Collaboration

Actively engaging in all quarterly corporate system roadmap planning and preparation activities as appropriate.

Effectively communicating with systems team in the domain and beyond into other teams that could be impacted by design decisions and activities.

Providing technical leadership to team domain members. The Corporate Systems Architect should mentor others in systems teams on best design practices, processes and methodologies.

  • Experience in cloud architectures, such as:
  • Fundamental public cloud services from AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
  • Experience of Microsoft and other stack of technologies including but not limited to:
  • Azure Active Directory
  • Windows server


MS SQL Server (or other relational and non-relational databases).

  • Hands on experience of Service based architecture.
  • Knowledge of domain-driven design concepts desirable.
  • Experience or knowledge in modern cloud architecture topologies to create scalable and repeatable solutions.
  • Good understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
  • Good understanding of configuring and maintaining Single Sign On (SAML2 and OIDC).

Experience/Knowledge You Will Need

Candidates should ideally have:

  • Experience as a Systems Architect, or a senior/principal engineer for at least 3 years and demonstrating architecture or design activities as part of their role.
  • Degree in Computer Science/related field or relevant experience. University qualifications not necessary if demonstrable industry experience is achieved.
  • Experience working with Cloud and Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, either fully cloud-native or in a hybrid cloud and on-premise scenario.
  • Experience in collaborating within a systems team.
  • Working in an Agile environment.
  • Data modelling & transformation experience.
  • Experience of Systems Integration using Middleware (Boomi, Workato etc.).
  • Service based architecture experience (REST, SOAP, GraphQL, etc.,).
  • Experience of stakeholder influence.
  • Ability to design and execute vision.
  • Understanding of best practices and patterns for systems integrations.
  • Good understand of ITIL framework – desirable
