Main Purpose

The Flexer Expansion group is responsible for the first interaction for many of our Flexers, the workers on our platform. We are responsible for sourcing, assessing, and onboarding the best Flexers for our marketplace and for our clients. As such, we've built a robust platform for onboarding new workers that is constantly evolving to the changing regulatory needs of the business and our client requirements. It's a cornerstone to our current businesses operations and future endeavours. Come build the future of compliance and onboarding at Indeed Flex!

This is a 12 month contract.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Drive the design and implementation of our onboarding platform, as you'll facilitate the collaboration between product managers, backend engineers ,and frontend engineers.
  • Assess and drive the resolution of technical debt within our Service Group with a focus on the onboarding service but potential to influence Python & Django best-practices throughout IndeedFlex.
  • Improve the developer experience for those working on our onboarding service, enabling more engineers to work on this problem space effectively
  • Work with engineering leadership and other Senior / Staff Engineers to evaluate technologies, infrastructure and architecture, driving improvements in all three
  • Efficiently ship good quality features on a regular cadence
  • Mentor and coach other engineers, levelling up the organisation's Python abilities

Experience & Skills required

  • Deep knowledge of Python & Django
  • Experience building modern API's specifically with experience working with:
  • Experience working with task queuing platforms (Celery) and affiliated technologies (RabbitMQ, Redis)
  • Experience writing complex SQL (MySQL, Snowflake) queries
  • A practical understanding of distributed systems and best practices when working with them
  • Experience building and maintaining third-party integrations
  • Experience building and deploying services on AWS
  • Experience mentoring and coaching software engineers in a team environment
  • Experience working with a remote and distributed team
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing infrastructure to ensure E2E coverage

Nice to have

  • Professional full-stack experience working with TypeScript & React
  • Experience working with Ruby / Rails applications
  • Involvement in the wider Python and/or Django community
  • Experience working with ETL tools and/or data warehousing
  • Open source contributions
