Change Manager – Inside IR35

 

Contract Term: 8 months (until 31/03/25)

 

Contracting Authority: The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office

 

Location: Hybrid – London or Glasgow 3 days per week

 

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Department for International Development (DfID) merged on 1 September 2020 to form the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

Joining the Service Operations team as a Change Manager you will support products and infrastructure services through the Change Management practices, with the aim of minimising the impact of change upon live service.

 

 

As a Change Manager your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Ensure the prompt and correct use of the Change Management/Enablement Management practices.
  • Ensuring change management/Enablement is seen as the central and accepted point of contact for changes, to ensure no clashes of planned work across the portfolio.
  • Review changes promptly and apply the correct change category to ensure changes are reviewed and approved by the appropriate Change Authority.
  • Evaluate and validate the change for the appropriate category, level of content, quality,
  • Impact and Risk Assessment and work with Change Requestors to ensure essential and supporting information is captured in the Change record including test artifacts.
  • Chair and minute decision and actions at the Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Approve minor and up to significant medium impact changes and review standard changes for consistency.
  • After implementation, evaluate the change for any lessons learned, which may require a post implementation review and close the change request.
  • Provide advice, guidance, training and inducting staff in change management practices.

 

Essential:

  • An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this position, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks. 
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience working in a Change Management / Enablement function within a digital environment.
  • Results oriented with energy and passion to achieve and exceed stretching objectives and to deliver within tight timescales.
  • Strong communicator with a high degree of written and verbal communication skills.

 

Desirable:

  • ITIL4 or 3 Foundation.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge and experience of project methodologies, i.e. Agile, DevOps and traditional waterfall.
