Release Train Manager

Edinburgh based with 2 days per week in office

6 month initial contract paid via Umbrella Company

Newtyne's financial services client is investing heavily in a range a programmes to leverage their data assets and capability that will fundamentally change how their business uses data. With this new capability they have the demand to bring in more data sources and use this data both internally and externally. As part of these initiatives they require an experienced Release Train Manager to help guide them towards full Agile adoption and maturity across their release management lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • An outstanding opportunity to help shape and refine an established but still developing Agile team
  • Will act as the key individual aligning vision, planning and across several teams to ensure domain co-ordination of delivery and domain pipelines
  • Improving the development lifecycle deployment and management phases by ensuring release and environment best practices
  • Acting as an agile coach building and delivering the release and sprint goals and work pipelines
  • Ensuring that pre and post planning meetings are set up and effectively facilitated

Required experience:

  • Specific and wide ranging experience running complex projects spanning multiple scrum and non-scrum teams
  • Highly skilled using scaled Agile and P3M tools covering a wide range of portfolio, programme and teams
  • Used to taking others with them and able to articulate demonstrate the benefit of Agile approaches to a wide audience
  • Financial service experience gained in banking or life and pensions
  • Exceptionally strong servant leadership skills and ability to both shape and communicate strategy
  • Expert stakeholder management and influencing skills; able to communicate to a wide audience the benefits of Agile delivery at scale
