XYZ Reality is a construction tech start-up based in London and is currently looking for a talented, passionate, and experienced Power BI Developer on a contract basis.
XYZ is on a path to revolutionise the construction industry with custom augmented reality hardware and innovative software. Our Team are highly motivated, professionally qualified engineers specialising in industrial and mechanical design, software, and electronic design and manufacture. The quality and innovativeness of the products we design are critical to our customers and our company.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain custom visuals for Power BI using the Power BI Custom Visuals SDK,
• Collaborate closely with the data analytics team to understand requirements and create visuals that cater to specific data representation needs,
• Optimise visuals to handle large datasets without compromising performance,
• Stay updated with the latest Power BI updates, ensuring compatibility and leveraging new features as relevant,
• Participate in code and design reviews to ensure visuals follow best practices and standards,
• Document the design and functionality of the custom visuals for both internal teams and clients,
• Train internal teams on the usage and features of developed custom visuals,
• Willingness to learn new things and to help out in other areas within the company when needed.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript,
• Hands-on experience with D3.js or similar data visualisation libraries,
• Deep expertise in the DAX language, with the ability to craft complex calculations, aggregations and utilise advanced DAX functions,
• Proven experience in developing custom visuals for Power BI,
• Solid understanding of Power BI's data model, capabilities, and best practices,
• Familiarity with Node.js and development tools like npm,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders,
• Able to plan and estimate your own tasks and ensure timely delivery of work,
• Bonus: Knowledgeable about construction BIM standards.
