Methods are looking for a SC Cleared - Senior SQL DBA/Database Administrator to work on a 8 month contract within a Government organisation.


Contract - 8 Months

£550 P/D Inside IR35

3 Days On Site / 2 WFH - Central London

The role requires SC level security clearance. Preference will be given for candidates SC security cleared. However we will accept exceptional candidates without security clearance on the basis that the successful candidate obtains SC clearance ASAP after starting the contract.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background of operational database administration and support in financial services operational environments. They will have experience of working with and understanding complex systems in addition to good practice methods and are able to apply them quickly and efficiently to provide best value for the business.


Principal Responsibilities


  • Provide technical support across all SQL Database environments
  • Provide operational support for DB issues initiated from Incidents or Changes
  • Work on projects and provide effective support to project teams to ensure the smooth transition of new databases and initiatives into the Production environment




  • Minimum 5 years database administration ideally in banking or Business Critical IT environments
  • Experience of supporting Production, User Acceptance, Test and Development databases
  • Excellent working knowledge of SQL2016/2019/2022
  • Experience using a Scripting language to automate tasks and processes
  • Experience of monitoring and alerting tools for DBs
  • Backup and Recovery of mission critical systems

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK.
