Digital Content Designer (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 9 Months     

Contracting Authority: DWP

Location: Remote

 

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:

As a Digital Content Designer your main responsibilities will be:  

  • A content designer is responsible for creating, updating and reviewing content for end-to-end user journeys. They make sure the most appropriate content is shown to users in the right place and in the right format.
  • A content designer is comfortable using evidence, data and research to make the right content decisions. They make sure users ' goals are met and that a service or other product meets policy intent.
  • A content designer can work within a multidisciplinary team across digital and non-digital channels. They contribute to and use style guides and design patterns to produce consistent content. 

 

You’ll have relevant experience in:

 

  • Have experience of working at pace in an agile environment and from a digital perspective.
  • Have exemplary spelling and grammar and experience of writing and editing using a style guide and plain English.
  • Be able to take a user-centred approach to content design and explaindesign decisions in a way that other people understand.
  • Be able to put forward the case for content design to senior stakeholders and product owners.
  • Know how to plan user research and have experience of using data and user research to inform content decisions.
  • Be able to handle constructive criticism of your work and to constructively review other people’s work.
  • Have experience of how your work fits into the wider context of the team and department.
