We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Engineer who will be instrumental in shaping our client's architectural strategies, guiding technical solutions, and engaging in high-level discussions with CTOs to ensure alignment of technology initiatives. This role requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on development expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CTOs and technical leaders across subgroups to define and implement scalable, robust, and secure technology solutions.
  • Lead the design and architecture of enterprise-level systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and integrate seamlessly with existing platforms.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and advancements to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Provide hands-on coding expertise when necessary, contributing to critical development projects and ensuring best practices in software engineering.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Facilitate architectural governance and decision-making processes, ensuring adherence to principles and standards.
  • Develop technical roadmaps that align with the company's strategic objectives and deliver tangible business value.
  • Represent the technology organisation in executive meetings, articulating technical strategies and their business implications effectively.


  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in software development and architecture, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical senior executives.
  • Deep awareness of technology, development best practices and emerging trends across the industry.
  • Expertise in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Scala, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in cloud computing platforms - preferably in GCP - and experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Strong background in distributed computing and familiarity with technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and distributed cache systems (Hazelcast, Redis).
  • Experience with database management and proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK Stack).
  • Strong leadership skills, team-builder and influencer.
  • Certifications in cloud architecture, project management, or relevant fields are a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
