Job Title: Network Specialist

Location: Uxbridge, London Paddington, and Swindon – Hybrid

Rate: £300 to £350

Duration of assignment: 6 months

Number of positions available: 1

 

Special Working Conditions:

Travel as needed

May need to travel between Datacentre sites in Uxbridge, London Paddington, and Swindon

 

The Role:

We are seeking a Network Specialist to configure and implement services with a strong understanding of technical and architectural discussions for Data Centre hosting and migration. The ideal candidate will have experience in network operations, design, solution, and implementation support, with a robust background in networking, SaaS, and security.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and implement network services.
  • Navigate technical and architectural discussions for Data Centre hosting and migration.
  • Provide support for network operations, design, solutions, and implementation.
  • Utilize deep understanding of IPSEC, GRE, HTTP/HTTPS, and DNS protocols.
  • Manage and configure Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls, and hybrid cloud integration.
  • Work with Proxy and SSL.

 

Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Network Security, Palo Alto Firewall, Fortinet Firewalls, Algosec, F5 Load Balancer, and Juniper switches.
  • Knowledgeable in Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA) and experienced with Zscaler migration in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in migrating or offloading VPN traffic to Zscaler (ZPA).
  • Proficient in handling Palo Alto from CLI and Panorama.
  • Knowledgeable in WAF module on F5-Big IP platform Application Security Manager (ASM) and ICA Proxy, Reverse Proxy on F5-Big IP platform.
  • Strong understanding of routing and switching concepts.
  • Proficient in Palo Alto Threat Prevention services and DLP technologies.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and implementing IPsec and AnyConnect VPN, ACL, NAT, PAT, and security policies.
  • Knowledgeable in Palo Alto URL-based ACLs and filters.
  • Experienced in TCP dump capture, packet analysis, and analyzing with Wireshark filters.
  • Competent in Palo Alto GlobalProtect feature.
  • Expert in Python scripting.
  • Experience in security infrastructure, including Firewalls, IPS/IDS, Proxies, Enterprise Log Management, Load-Balancers, WAFs, DNS/IP management, and VPN.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and collaborative interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Unix/Linux CLI.
  • Understanding of network security concepts and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in network security technologies.
  • Knowledgeable in transparent and context-based Firewalls.
  • Familiar with Splunk and Splunk forwarders.
  • Understanding of failover and VPN high availability.
  • Knowledgeable in LDAP and other two-factor authentication standards and implementations.
  • Open-minded to suggest global security best practices.

  • Zscaler Certified

 

Good to Have:

  • Ability to work with third-party vendors, OEMs, and product suppliers.
  • Knowledge of contracts and SLAs.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes.
  • Experience in handling network high-priority incidents.
