Senior Procurement Manager

London or Manchester based – hybrid working model (2 days a week office based, 3 days a week remote)

Excellent inside IR35 day rate contract rate

Fantastic opportunity to secure an initial 6 months day rate contract, inside IR35, with good scope for extension as a Senior Procurement Manager. The Senior Procurement Manager will deliver a category led buying approach from tactical buying to strategic multi-year procurements. The Senior Procurement Manager role reports into the Head of Sourcing and will potentially involve line management of a small team of Procurement Managers. The Senior Procurement Manager role with be focused around the Technology category and relevant experience in these category / related categories is required.


What will you be doing?

• Manage, lead, and deliver sourcing activity to assigned projects and categories utilising

· established negotiation, benchmarking, strategic sourcing techniques & sustainability policies.

· Line manage a small team of experienced Procurement Managers

• Working with DCC Directors and Executives to set and implement, sourcing and procurement

· for all assigned procurement projects – ranging up to £100m+

• Providing thought advice and procurement expertise on sourcing models to meet the different

· needs of the business – from catalogue and auctions through to complex multi-year

· transformational procurements.

• Providing sourcing expertise on one of the following areas: - Telecoms, Technology and IT,

· Security, Outsourcing, Innovation and Professional Services


What are we looking for?

· Significant, specific experience as a Senior Procurement Manager in a Technology related category.

· Experienced line manager

· Proven experience running highly complex, high value projects and contracts.

· Proven level of negotiation and dispute resolution experience

· Strong research and analytical capabilities, in particular supply market research, spend analysis, business requirements analysis and bidder response evaluation.

· Solution driven, innovative with a drive for cost and value led solutions.

· Experience working in a highly regulated environment, ideally possessing experience in both the Public and Private Sector.
