Data Engineer (GCP / API) 6 Month Contract (Inside IR35) Hybrid Working | SHEFFIELD | £500 per day

We are seeking a junior to mid-level Data Engineer with strong GCP API experience! This will be


The Role:


The crux of the job is to design, build, test and deploy data APIs for downstream consumers to access the data on Google BigQuery Warehouse. The Data Engineer will also optimise data and API granularity, flexibility and autonomy with the use of materialised views, query parameters, schema design partitions, indexes, down-sampling, etc. to manage trade-offs between data volumes, scope, timing and performance.


Required Skills / Experience:


  • Excellent understanding of GCP Architecting and solution design
  • Strong development experience on Google BigQuery or Cloud Platform APIs
  • An understanding of Core Web services, JSON, Google Cloud APIs and Wrappers
  • Expert in database design, development and administration – understanding of relational and dimensional data models (and preferably Data Vault)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English. Proficiency in verbal, listening and written English is crucial.
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills.
