Azure DevOps Engineer (Inside IR35)

Contract Term: 12 months

Contracting Authority: DWP

Location: Hybrid Working (Travel to Newcastle Office)


The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. As an Azure DevOps Engineer your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize development workflows and deployment processes.
  • Utilize Linux and Bash scripting to automate tasks and enhance system performance.
  • Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Containerize applications with Docker, enabling seamless deployment and scalability across environments.
  • Harness the power of PowerShell to automate configuration management and streamline operations.


You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps tools and services.
  • Experience with building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong Linux and Bash scripting skills.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code principles and tools like Terraform.
  • Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management.
  • Must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
