The Vacancy

This is a fixed term contract for 6 month (proRata) or 3 month day rate contract required for the IT DBA team.

The candidate will be part of the SQL DBA team within the wider IT Ops team, tasked with the working within our Azure Cloud Infrastructure in delivering the journey of the database estate to MS Azure & MS Fabric.

The ideal candidate will have proven track record of thinking outside of the box on SQL database solutions and pushing boundaries in creating secure, robust, and highly available database environments within Azure. They must have worked in a similar role whereby they are instrumental in playing a significant role in the migration and build of Azure SQL database estate and Azure data services.

Any suited candidate should have Strong SQL Server Development skills. - current and all previous versions. Experience will include performance profiling and tuning. Database security and monitoring, including 3rd party and Azure tools. Relevant SQL certifications, preferably qualified as Azure Database Administrator Associate

Delivering, working alongside Microsoft Partner to ensure infrastructure requires are deployed in a timely manner.
Developing an industry-unique approach to Database infrastructure design, working on internal tooling and processes to simplify our work and ensure we get the information we need.
Develop and improve our monitoring solutions and automated reporting on uptime monitoring for management reporting.
The freedom to tear any of that up if you’ve got a better solution.
