Job Title - Data Analyst Location - Cardiff Rates - Up to £260.86 per day (LTD/Umbrella) or Up To £260.86 per day (PAYE) In Scope of IR35 About the role / project: The primary focus of this role will be to provide statistical data and provide trends for the Safe and Effective programme team through a dashboard. This will support with meeting the Office of Rail and Road notice in answering: ʺWhat is the safe access strategy to maintain this section of railway?ʺ As a Reporting Analyst, you will provide analysis and produce regular and ad-hoc data quality, asset. operational and management reports about the infrastructure to inform decision making. The ideal candidate is customer focussed and has a strong eye for detail. You'll create and maintain various processes for reports and their associated measures and support the reporting and analysis of key work force safety performance indicators. What you will do: Produce regular and ad hoc reporting for multiple partners. Extract information from corporate databases and collect data from various sources to support the programme in reporting to the Executive. Maintain a library of programme reporting definitions and measures; implement relevant reporting standards, processes and procedures. Support the development and implementation of an assurance framework and critical metrics for the programme reporting. Support the identification and development of new reports and measures for the programme as the programme develops. Support the team's participation in, and responses to, regulatory audits and reviews of analysis and reporting activities and capabilities, and any subsequent recommendations. Facilitate benchmarking and implement identified best practice and other capability improvement initiatives throughout the Regions and Routes, and actively progress improvements. Support route cause analysis and the development and analysis of key leading and lagging performance indicators and reliability analysis of assets. Your experience will include: Essential Degree in a relevant subject. Significant experience of technical analysis within an engineering team. Significant experience of systems and software engineering processes and procedures. Strong analytical skills. Expert user level in database construction, analysis and maintenance capability. Advanced experience with Power BI. Knowledge of SQL. Desirable Knowledge of the geographic and physical context of the railway. Knowledge of railway or transport planning and engineering. Knowledge of the rail industry. Experience of working in a commercial environment in a data analysis and/or reporting role.
