Job Title - Data Manager Location - York Audax Road Rates - £351.49 per day LTD/ Umbrella - £306.90 per day PAYE In Scope of IR35 About the role / project: Network rail are seeking a Data Manager to join their team based in York, Audax Road. The purpose of the role is to manage the provision and assurance of geospatial asset geospatial asset data, working with customers and stakeholders to identify future requirements. Lead specific data, standards and service improvement activities and act as a specialist for the management of geospatial asset data to the industry. What you will do: Lead the geospatial asset team in the delivery of data management services for geospatial asset to meet business, customer and stakeholder requirements Manage the collation of relevant asset data from internal and external data providers Lead the management, maintenance and synchronisation of relevant datasets and related support systems in accordance with applicable standards and work instructions Manage the provision of geospatial asset data required by other internal and external systems and processes, liaising with system maintainers and stakeholders as necessary Contribute to and/or undertake the development and implementation of relevant Business Critical Rules, Means of Control, standards, processes and procedures as required Develop and implement an assurance framework and appropriate KPIs for the management of geospatial asset data; work with stakeholders to develop remediation activities as required Lead communication on geospatial asset data management activities and promote awareness of the relevant standards throughout the organisation Work with managers and stakeholders to identify future needs for geospatial asset data and assess the impact on current resources, processes and systems Identify, develop and lead specific projects to improve the quality and availability of geospatial asset data and information Lead the delivery of team management, performance, quality and assurance reports Act as a business specialist on the management of geospatial asset information, providing technical advice to internal and external customers and stakeholders as required. Your experience will include: Essential A level, or equivalent, in relevant subjects Demonstrable experience of geospatial asset data capture methodologies Broad experience and knowledge of data management and data quality issues Excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills Proven experience of team management Proven ability to work systematically and meet deadlines Knowledge of infrastructure, geospatial and schematic data relating to the GB railway HND or NVQ equivalent in construction or engineering related subject Experience of Impact, Systems & Business analysis Experience of planning work within your own area of expertise Experience in looking at trends and patterns and are happy to investigate issues and discrepancies Desirable Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a numerate discipline Proven ability to work with senior management to understand their requirements Good knowledge of the architecture asset registers Knowledge of computer systems related to geospatial asset data Knowledge of asset and information management What you'll get in return Network Rail (powered by Capita), understand what it is like to work as a contractor and do everything they can to make it a simple process for you - this includes a dedicated Onboarding and extension teams and access to a web-based timesheet portal giving you an ability to access and submit your timesheets wherever you are.
