Flomatik have a requirement for an experienced Telecoms focused Transmission Designer to work on a UK wide network consolidation project for a key client. As a Transmission Designer, you'll be DWDM focused; understanding the technologies involved with a preference to Transmode/Infinera, ECI, Ciena and Nokia vendor equipment. You'll convey competence in all aspects of transmission design; DWDM, CWDM, SDH across both active and passive systems and be familiar with fibre networks.   This role can be based nationally on either a customer site or remote working. Flomatik is searching for an experienced Layer 2 logical data provisioning engineer. Our client is looking for a capable data engineer to join their Data Provisioning team to support various Site Consolidation and Business customer activities through 2019 and into 2020. An initial contract of 3 months supporting a single project is expected to lead into other project support work. Candidates must be familiar with the network platforms and provisioning systems deployed at Virgin Media. Daily duties Acting as a gatekeeper to check the quality of orders coming into the team Working through a checklist of specific requirements aligned to each product, checking for missing items Ensuring orders are clean and accurate Liaising with other internal teams via phone, IM and email to check orders are complete Carry out basic and complex data network provisioning tasks, ensuring network records and databases are updated and maintained Ensuring provisioning is carried out to agreed network standards and conventions Allocation of network resources for customer services Working closely with cross-divisional peers to review working practices Desired Experience Experience of working in a Data Networking operational/provisioning environment.
