Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a PLM Solution Architect to be based at our customer's office in Hethel. Our PLM practice helps manufacturers build better products, define better processes, and reduce costs. As an engineering services organization, we use the processes and software we recommend to our clients. We leverage two decades of PLM domain expertise, industry-leading software partnerships, innovative training services, and a laser-like focus on understanding the product development challenges specific to each of our clients. The Role: The Solution Architect is the lead technical authority for the customer PLM solution. The role provides direction for design, deployment, testing and rollout activities either internally or at customer sites and acts as a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance through the complexity of technical requirements and solutions. Area of Responsibility: Responsible for technical planning and effective application of technical elements of change and risk management principles to the project, where required. Provide advice on the problem-solving of strategic technical issues through to resolution, providing considered consultancy and viable solutions to the customer. Understand and take into consideration, risks, costs, benefits and possibilities offered by customization vs. Configuration. Develop relationships with the aim of being a trusted advisor to customers and colleagues. Run workshops with the customer for technical requirements gathering, Fit/Gap analysis, solution design/definition, and design reviews. Produce detailed designs from the High-Level Technical Architecture which may include Sub-systems & Integration Design, Migration Design and Infrastructure Design. Be proactive in collaborating with appropriate parties to improve the capability of PLM products. Integrate PLM functionality with external software, when designing solutions. Undertake appropriate business process requirements gathering, solution definition and delivery. Co-ordinate and oversee user acceptance testing based on the initial functional and nonfunctional specifications from the business. Generate documentation on technical best practices and other technical assets for reuse. Provide accurate and timely technical information to management team as required. Review implementation experiences with project delivery team and other architects. Demonstrate technical thought leadership and effectively influence key contacts. Provide information and feedback to customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner ensuring that key messages are communicated effectively. Knowledge / Experience: Knowledge of Siemens product suite or similar. Good understanding of configuration control and software installation practices. Previous experience of software testing and designing technical solutions. Working knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Java, ITK, PLMXML, XML, XSTL, C, C++, would be an advantage. Working knowledge of hardware and operating systems architecture, would be an advantage. Experience of working within an Information Technology, or Engineering company. Experience of software implementation projects within Blue Chip companies. Commercial Awareness. Basic project management skills. Able and willing to undertake in country travel, as and when required, and at short notice. Able and willing to undertake travel outside of country on request with personal approval. Good country language skills and appreciation of cultural differences and needs in multi-lingual teams. Adaptable and flexible; able to respond to requests/requirements at short notice with little lea.
