IT Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure Role overview Gatwick require a senior IT project manager who has end to end implementation experience of delivering large scale IT infrastructure projects in a complex environment. Any experience with radar or radio frequency systems is desirable. Gatwick Airport is changing at an outstanding pace and this presents an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Senior IT project manager to be part of the IT Project Delivery team driving Gatwick's journey to technology leadership. The role will interface into multiple teams: - Gatwick Operational support teams, Gatwick IT framework suppliers, Business Analysis & Consulting, Testing and support providers. The candidate will have a good background in general IT infrastructure and airport IT systems integration. Solid experience of best practice project management gained in a complex, fast-paced environment is essential. Principal accountabilities The main accountabilities of the role are: Responsible for managing the delivery of multiple IT projects (or major project work streams) from initiation to completion. Responsible for establishing clear Business expectations and managing these through to completion. Responsible for managing scope, schedule, deliverables, budget, quality and risks related for each project. This role will do the project planning, scheduling, allocation of resources and project accounting. This will also manage all project communication and liaison with various internal departments as well as Business units. Report on project progress to PMO, Project Boards and other governance bodies, up to C Level executives. This role will conduct business analysis on projects which doesn't have dedicated business analysts Adherence to all relevant airport processes during implementation activities Clear and appropriate communications with all stakeholders Identify, define and scope technical project risks, issues, constraints, changes, interdependencies Promotion of a deep EHS (environment, health, and safety) culture and adherence to EHS procedures Minimum Experience The candidate should have a strong background in either general IT infrastructure or IT systems and systems integration or automation/controls and engineering. Solid experience of best practice project management gained in a complex, fast-paced environment is absolutely essential. The role will require the following: End to end implementation experience of delivering large IT infrastructure projects Demonstrable experience of managing IT projects managing large and complex projects Demonstrable experience of line managing Project Managers or other project team members directly Demonstrable experience in the relevant technology domain such as Software Development or Infrastructure Design Experience in the relevant business domain (Airport, Accounting, Ground handling etc.) Proven track record of delivery through all stages of the project life cycle Proven track record of managing project teams in a Matrix environment Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control methodologies Experience with business user or external client management, communication, negotiation and facilitation skills Minimum Qualifications Excellent communication skills, written and spoken University degree qualification in an IT related subject (Engineering, Information Systems, Science, Business or Commerce), or equivalent experience essential Strong negotiation and facilitation skills PMP or Prince2 certification ITIL/Software technology related certification is desirable The role is expected to: Report into IT Portfolio Manager Direct reports from IT supplier technical teams Work within complex multifunctional and multi supplier project environment, interfacing with GAL IT suppliers and GAL support teams The role has no delegated financial responsibility but will be responsible for defining and managing multiple projects up to £5M.
