Contract Spy Cambridge, UK

We are seeking proposals for the redevelopment of an internal Baker Richards software product which is used by the Consulting Services team (known as the Baker Richards 'Portal') as a web application. The application currently uses an Access 2010 project running against standardised Sql Server Databases. Multiple databases are created by Baker Richards each month and these contain very large volumes of data and large numbers of tables. The Access 2010 project functionality has been discontinued by Microsoft and the upgrade path is not compatible with the size and volume of these databases. Baker Richards wishes to replace the user interface provided by Access 2010 with a web application. The existing application functionality is primarily in the sql server database and is achieved through views and stored procedures. The Access 2010 project is currently used to a) code data and b) group and provide access to reports and procedures housed in the sql server database and thus this forms the core functionality to be replaced by the new web application. Applicants must have experience of developing 'back-end' functionality. We envisage this development will be offered on a contract basis (work from home or from our Cambridge office, as you prefer) but are open to alternative proposals.
